Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mommy's Day, all you Moms out there!
Here's my mommy.

Her name is Judy. I took this picture the summer of 1976, before I had learned how to not cut people (my dad) in half with the camera. Don't you like her floppy hat?
That summer was great. We camped all the way from North Carolina to California, from sea to shining sea, in the year of the bicentennial. Before we left Raleigh, Mom had us write to chambers of commerce all along the route, to ask for leaflets about what to see in the different states. I loved getting mail, so getting ready for that trip was almost as fun as taking it, thanks to Mom.

It went pretty well, except for the time I locked the keys in the car at a KOA campground. But Mom did not go crazy. She did not rant and rave. She's good like that.

She's good in so many ways.

But Mom, just in case you don't like that picture of you in your floppy hat, I'll show everyone what I looked like back then. Then we'll be even.

See what I mean, people?
Someone should tell that girl to pull up the other sock. Mommy always thought I was beautiful, even with my plastic stop sign glasses.

I could write a million things about my mom. But I'll say that I never knew how much she really loved me until I had a baby. Oh, she told me all the time and I've always felt it. But now I really know.

I'm so thankful that she's been around since my kids were born. I don't know what I'd do without her.
She's great with babies.

And bigger ones

Here's a Reindeer Party she threw for the kids when she came down to SC for a weekend and watched them while Todd and I went out.

She's good at loving on my children.

And she's good at showing me how to do things outside of my comfort zone.
(She doesn't like heights, but does that stop her?)

Best of all, she's really fun.

I love my mom.
Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!
And Happy Mother's Day to all you mommies out there!
Love, Becky

Happy MOther's day to both of you. What a lovely and happy post. My mom taught me to tat. Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day with your comment. I did a little tatted mother's day tribute for my mom today on my blog if you want to take a gander once the festivities have settled down and you have absolutely nothing better to do. :)
