Paper Cuts

Today's Wonder of the World is...Sharon Pazner's three dimensional paper art!

I love it when I bumble into art that stuns me, so I was delighted to discover the work of Sharon Pazner, an artist based in Israel, who learned to make three dimensional models during her training as an architect.
I was just minding my own business, searching for a good picture of keys, when I came across the beauty above.
I was already fascinated, and then I saw this one...

I love to see the cut-outs as well as the objects.
Someone here, who knows oodles more about art than I do said this about her work:
Leaving the three-dimensional shapes or objects attached to the paper while exposing their cut-out origins suggests the co-existence of the finished work together with the process of its creation, something static and something in motion.
Exactly!

I like this one, with the mirror image of the trees.

And this...

And these stairs. I'd love to watch her construct that!

And how about these spheres?

And she doesn't just do paper work.
Look what she can do with a scanner!
This...

And this...

As soon as I saw those, I had to show Sam.
Remember how Sam loves our scanner?

Sharon's work inspired us both.
I hope it inspires you too!
Have a wonder-full Wednesday, everyone!
I wish you...

Peace!
Love, Becky

PS. If you'd like to see more of her work on display, enjoy this short video taken before an exhibition in Budapest. Or check out her work in her Flickr photostream here.

PS. again Thank you Sharon, for letting me share your work with my friends!

That is so remarkable! Since I'm not a very creative person and not very "artsy & crafty," I am amazed by the creations of so many people. This paper-cutting art is fantastic.

I don't know which I like better. I haven't seen anything like the nail art. I like the irony of something as delicate as leaves being constructed with nails.

Hee-hee. Iron-y! That was an accident.

I stumbled upon your blog somehow, and I'm glad I did. Thanks for sharing Sharon Pazner's work--it's beautiful! I love working with paper too by making collages, but cut-outs like these are so intricate that they just blow my mind.
