Everything's a Miracle...

Today's Wonder of the World is my favorite song in the whole wide world. I'd love to share it with you, but first I should say that every time I see one of these little guys, I start singing it.

I asked my beautiful husband to attract more of those red-winged birds to our house, so I'd be inspired to sing it even more often. Here's what he came up with...

Isn't he creative? It's made from pieces of a wine crate and some old pencils Tanner chewed up. I do love a man who recycles.

Back to the whole reason for this post...
If I ever got the chance to send a message to the world, I'd sing this song. On second thought, I'd beg Peter Mayer to do it for me. He wrote it and recorded it on his amazing CD, Million Year Mind. He's not a religious singer songwriter, but if anyone ever asked me what holiness means, I'd tie them up and make them listen to it. Promise me you'll listen all the way through. It may surprise you. Or maybe not.

If you love it as I do, you can read the lyrics/poem, here.
But listen first. (How about me, ordering you around!)

Enough suspense.
Enjoy, my friends!
And tune in tomorrow for the wackiest thing I can't live without.

The shot you got of the red bird is wonderful!

I like reading your blog!

Hi f.o.t., good to meet you!
I must admit that I didn't take that photo. It's a public photo on flickr, and I do love it.

I'm glad you're enjoying the blog! I like yours too! Though I am a little worried about you, having seen your office. Foil scares me. I don't like the noise it makes.

But I will visit later when I should be cleaning up the kitchen and will scroll down again--it looks fascinating! I love your pictures--especially that Orangina ad. So hilarious, and strange!

Is this bird a cardinal. Lovely!

It sure is, Nancy. I just like saying red winged bird. It goes with the song.
Thanks for dropping by!

That bird photo is amazing! And I love the super-cool birdhouse. Very hip for the birdies.

Ever since you shared that song with me (maybe a year ago?) I sing it just about every day. You and me, we could make a beautiful world if they would put us in charge!

I stopped by earlier but got side tracked. First thank you for your comment Rebecca.
The house your husband built is WONDERFUL. When I first looked at it I thought it was a real small house. Wouldn't that be a cool idea too??? Since I love birds they deserve such an amazing chateau!
I've never heard Peter Mayer sing before. His song gave me the chills.

I love cardinals. We had so many in Chicago. here in Texas we see them but much more occasionally. I miss them. And, they looked so great against the backdrop of white snow.

Hi Becky!
Today, in Michigan, we had two lovely cardinals, a love couple, land in our cherry tree. How wonderful!
And it made me think about this so thoughtful post and you!
(If only we could get George Clooney here, man, it would be a perfect world!)
I told my husband about your husband's bird feeder. A fly through design, right?
Although the chipmunks and squirrels will be sure set to get at it, maybe we will make our own here too. Any building suggestions?

Hey Bobbi!
No, I'm afraid I have no helpful building hints for you--Todd's the carpenter. But I'm glad you've got cardinals! So pretty!
