Finally, SNOW!

Today's Wonder of the World is...SNOW!!!

This entire winter the Ramsey house has been puke green with envy over the avalanche of snow pictures falling all over the internet.

Why couldn't it snow in South Town?
Just once? Pretty please?

Two times the weather-people taunted us, promising snow and a day home from school, only to wake to find green grass and a sunny sky. Again.

Saturday looked like the same old replay.
"Don't get your hopes up," we said to the boys. "Remember what happened last time?"
"Thanks Mom for squashing our dreams," Ben said.
"What about HOPE?" asked Sam.

We only got rain.
Even Tanner the Slobber Dog looked sad.

He went out to check several times and then gave up.

We'll just play inside.

When we got really bored, we played dress up.

And then, while we weren't looking, something weird started happening.
Tanner couldn't figure it out.

By nightfall there were fat flakes falling!

If you look hard at this pic you might see my boys playing in the snow. I would have gone in the yard for a better picture but I was too lazy to get off the porch.

The flakes kept falling! People started coming out of their houses!

Across the street they built a snowman in the dark!

And this morning?
A winter wonderland!

The treehouse looks like a mountain chalet!

The tomato cages, snow wreaths suspended in air!

Tanner is rejoicing!

Come on Mom! Stop taking pictures and put those plastic bags on your feet! (We have no snow boots here.) Let's go!

So we're playing today!

Have a wonder-full Monday, y'all!
Enjoy a visit from Snow Miser. And if you're one of those lucky ones who's had your fill of snow, hang on. Heat Miser shows up at the end!

Love, Becky

Ugh!!! My boys said thay're getting at least a foot of the stuff "up home" in Pennsylvania today. My Facebook friends are practically providing play by play as the snowflakes fall. I, on the other hand, am enjoying the stinging sensation of sunburn from a Saturday on the beach... Hah! Take that you Yankees!!! I don't miss that stuff at all. Glad you're 'diggin' it.

Becky you actually made me very happy that we have snow almost 10 months of the year (actually 8).

It looks beautiful and it is.

Have a fun snow-filled day.

It looks so pretty Rebecca.
I heard the South was getting snow.
Wish we would get some here in Southern California! Just one day for fun.
Enjoy!

Woo Hoooooo! Finally someone who likes that it snowed as much as me!!
My grandson Ben was running out laying in it, piling it, eating it. I threw his clothes, socks and coat in the drier three times to keep him out there and dry. What a wonderful day.
Tanner the slobber dog's expression as he ran across the yard says it all. Ahhhh! Snow.
You have a vineyard! How cool is that!

I'm glad you're enjoying it--we're so sick of it here!

Oh, have fun! It's been too long since we played in that stuff, but once in a while we can drive to local mountains to get a dose of it...and then leave it behind :)

We got the snow too. Woohoo!! I blogged about it today too and posted lots of pictures from around my yard. There's even several of the pooches. They were totally cracking me up. They were as excited as the kids.

How fun!!! I LOVE the picture of the tree house ... with the snow and blue sky in background, it DOES look like a beautiful mountain chalet!!

I'M SO JEALOUS. One of the hardest parts of moving to San Francisco for good was making peace with the no snow thing. But we sneak up to Tahoe as much as possible.

Enjoy your snow day!

Hi Becky! Wow, this made me smile. So much of life is about perspective, isn't it? We get lots of snow here in Indiana, but I can understand your excitement: we always feel that way for the first snowfall of the season, and I still enjoy my frosty morning drives to work through 8 miles of country roads, especially if the snow sticks to the trees. Actually, ice is even better, because it makes everything look like it's made of glass! But then the drive is a little scary!! Did the boys get a snow day? My son never tires of those. Have a great day. xo -- Sandy

Hey y'all!
Thanks for the sweet comments.

Yes, Sandy, we did get a snow day. Are you kidding? This is South Carolina! We're now on snow day #2 and the roads outside look great to me. But in Greenville Co. school's defense, we have little to no snow remover equipment (see, I don't even know the words for it!) and with the below freezing temps last night, there was ice on the roads this morning. Nobody, including me, knows how to drive on the stuff, so it's better to stay home, drink hot chocolate and watch the rest of the snow melt!

It's supposed to be 70 degrees by Friday!

Is the snow still there?

I believe God is all the good things that matter.

Have a wonderful spiritual journey and from what I can see you are travelling in a loving way.

Becky, You would have loved the Georgia bloggers gathering! It was so wonderful to be able to connect faces with names and I met so many new bloggers too! You never know, these gatherings could grow until one day we have a southeast regional blog gathering! One of these days when we are headed to Sumter with a little extra time, I may have to take a detour and find you!!

Hurray and what fun!!! I'm pretty sure we're done here with snow (but it was a record year!!)

Who knew about the tomato cages? I think you might start a trend for those people who do get snow. As for me, I'm quite happy to be at the beach in a bathing suit in January.

We had a Northwest white Christmas this year. Once my lil' family made it home safely, we could enjoy our snowfall. I think it's beautiful. I'm able to say that cause it melted before it wore out it's welcome.
Have fun in the fluff!
If it returns next year...I'm going to try Miss Crispell's experiment of tossing boiling water to see it transform to flakes coming back down.

Sweet Wishes,
Sara
