100 Years Young!

Isn't this a handsome gent?
Would you believe he turned 100 years old yesterday?
He did! Thanks to my Meals on Wheels route, I've had the opportunity to become his friend, and let me tell you, he is quite the sweetheart.

After we sang Happy Birthday and gave him his cake, I asked him if he'd share the secret to his long life and happiness. "There's no secret," he said. "I was lucky enough to marry a pretty little girl and let her take care of me." So that's it: luck and love!
May we all be so fortunate!

And may we all take every opportunity for a free hug! (Notice the loving hand around my shoulder :) )

Have a wonder-full weekend, y'all!
Before you go, tell me, what do you hope old age holds for you?
And enjoy this little tune. My visit with the Birthday Boy makes me think they should change the words. How about when I'm ninety-four? Or maybe one hundred four!

He looks so dashing. I can only hope to look that good when I'm FIFTY!

Such a lovely man. You can easily see the life he has led in the light of his eyes. For my old age, I'd wish to retain the ability to do crossword puzzles, knees that will still allow a hike through Scotland, lots of dogs, lots of love, a clear conscience, and contentment.

You're so right. Dashing is the perfect word for him!

What a wonderful privilege to have befriended this amazing man!

My "old age" hopes are that I will live long enough to see them (lol) and will be a fun gramma all my days. Travel with my husband and little schnauzer. And will always have the ability/will to keep learning and growing!

What a charming gentleman. I love the oldsters, also. Not having any children, I'd like to have cultivated friendships with youngin's like you who will be patient enough to listen to all my old stories. Hopefully my hubby will be adding to those tall tales until the very end. Add to that still being able to get around and to do art and to read and my "old" world will be complete.

Luck and Love! That says so much. I'm hoping to have lots of books published out there by that point. I'd like to still be writing, learning, loving, growing, traveling, singing, etc., etc., etc. Living!

Your gentleman friend is a handsome guy! You are fortunate to be friends. Great answers to your question of longevity~luck and love!
Becky,
I feel fortunate to have my mother as fabulous role model of how to grow old with grace.

What I pray for:
TO NOT GIVE UP!!!
To continue to take care of myself. Treat my body, mind & spirit well, so that physically and mentally, spiritually I feel well.

To continue to have an open mind, open heart to all types of people and experiences.

To continue to celebrate life each day I am alive. To SMILE~

That I will NOT be fearful of death or the death process.

Thanks for featuring your friend, For being a person who does meals on wheels~

Hugs from Texas!
Constasnce

I hope that old age will continue to bring me laugh lines and smile lines, and fill my life with wonder, joy, and beauty. I also hope that I will remember how to be as happy as I was at age 4. :)

Wow almost twice me age, and he's looking good and jolly. How lucky, and same for you Becky for knowing him.

If having a pretty wife taking good care of us is the key, then people like me and Todd have a chance to live another half century! Stands to reason don't you think?

Hmmmmmmm - what to do with my next 51 years .......
I want the love of my life to be with me always. I want to continue to stay productive and maybe prosper a bit more. And I need to change chapters in my book of life more often, and soak-in as many Wonders of the World I can, and share them with friends. To make a "dent" in the world would be very cool, figuratively - a big contribution of some sort. Plus a bluzillion more things ......

Becky I have missed your blog for a week now, but that's what happens when you travel to the great white north - Nova Scotia. Luckily this hotel has free internet! Some appropriate lyrics for now would be "country road take me home", or even better, "big old jet airliner ... take me home". Been fun, but time to return is nearing.

Thanks for the neat post, and I will glance back in the previous week soon to catch up on your posts.
