A Peep Show for You!

Today's Wonder of the World is...the Peep!

Flickr photo by nyc dreamer
I'm sure you'd agree that there are few things more cheerful in an Easter basket than a trio of sugary Peeps, but I have a confession to make. Don't hate me, but I gag on Peeps. I'd rather the Easter bunny hop over to Etsy and buy me some peeps of a different sort.
Like this, for example.

I'm terrible--I know!
I should really wash my mouth out with Peep Soap!

Maybe I'd like them more if they were dipped in chocolate.

Bravo, Michelle. Now that's what I'm talking about.

I may not care for the spongy sweet Peep to eat, but I've got to say, I'm crazy about their value as an art material. That's why I'm IN LOVE with all the Peep Diorama contests peeping out all over the nation this time of year.
If you enjoy wasting time on the internet, the Peep Diorama photos are calling your name. But I warn you, there's a lot of Peep on Peep violence out there. It's not for the faint of heart.

Why don't I pre-screen a few for you?

Recognize this scene out of The Da Vinci Code?

Oh sorry, that was a little violent too.

I'm pretty sure the Olympics are a safe topic.

Want to go dancing with the Peeps?

Look! Here comes Moses, headed down the mountain with the Ten Commandments!

Those Israelites should give me the golden idol. I'd be happy to dispose of it for them!

Of course, you may not be a fan of dioramas. Peeps might inspire your artistic muse in a different direction.
Why not construct a Peep Easter Bonnet?!

Perfect!

Before you parade on out of here, enjoy this trailer for The Power of the Peep: A Marshmallow Meets America!

And if you can't get enough of the dioramas, hop over to The Washington Post and cast your vote for the best of Peep Show III!

Have a wonder-full Wednesday, Peeps!
Love, Becky

I am not a peeper either…
I use to get tons of them as a kid, if you keep them long enough they become hard
as rocks.

Have a wonderful Peepless Easter,

Louise

Oh, how I neeeeed to spend just a few more minutes enjoying all your Wonders that I missed last week. I did make it to Tanner's smile thru the front window. And the Fresh Air video that got me thinking....then Joe came in looming over me with an overflowing folder and these horrid grumbling sounds coming from his direction. I think it said, "Brumph grumph, blahhh blahhh TAXES blah GRUMPH mumble GROWL blah."
I'll be here in spirit! Don't forget me!!! I'll be back!
Keep that box of Klennex handy. We are covered up with yellow pollen dust here.

Yummy Peeps! And so cheerful in the face of their certain doom.

I use to love those as a kid. I would leave them out to get old, they were better that way.
My son in law loves them, so every holiday I buy some for him. I remember when they were only for Easter, and only one color.
Great post!
Have a wonderful day,
Rosemary

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of their flavor either. They are just too, too. I'd rather just have a marshmallow. But the kids like them, and I'm sure they will find that the Easter Bunny has brought them some.

I'd be glad to eat the golden lindt bunny though. That's where my weakness lies.

A PEEP SHOW!!! Peeps interpreting the Bible! Peeps Olympics!

I too think they are NASTY to eat but I can't resist Peep "art."

They're just so funny. I don't know why.

I'm not crazy about the way they taste, but they tempt me each year because they look so irresistibly cute!

I don't love to eat 'em, but they are SO cute. Cute as kittens.

There's something about that sugar coating that makes it just right... :)

I've never even tried one. Although I have been given them before. For some reason, they kind of freak me out. I'm like Ronnie, I have gotten behind on your posts, I promise to do better! Susan

I've been on a blog break a medical hiatus. So I've got to take a peek at what I've missed. Peeps have certainly become an Easter tradition...you either like them or dislike them. I remember always getting them in my basket, which I'd immediately hand over to my BF. Who to this day 40 years later is still receiving them from me as an Easter favorite.

Sweet Wishes,
Sara

LOL! If you want to see some real Peep wackiness google Peeps in a microwave...pretty funny stuff. I think there were experiments also in a vacumn...not a Hoover, but a true vacumn. Those wacky scientists! LOL.

Love the Peeps thing- I even have a Peeps cookbook and know their history and didn't even think of looking on Flickr for peeps pix or peeps peeps. I LOVE the DaVinci peep-o-rama! I "egged" some of my art too.
