Make Your Uncle Smile!

Today's Wonder of the World is...The Vote!

Hey Uncle Sam!

For some crazy reason, some beautiful people from all over the world have bumbled into my blog!
(Hey there gorgeous! Yes, I mean you! I'm so lucky and happy you're here!)
A few of you even come here on purpose! Have I told you lately that I love you?
But as you can see, today's blog is especially for my fellow Americans.

BUT WAIT! Don't leave! There's a video you'll love at the end!
And there's cookies! Here, have one!

Make yourself comfy. I've just got a short message for my fellow countrymen.
It won't take but a sec.

Guess what time it is?

Time to vote!

What?
You're too busy?
Come now.
If this guy can take a voting break during prime acorn collecting season...

surely we can do the same!

That's all, folks!
Now for the video!
No matter whether you're red or blue, I've got a video that will make you smile!
I discovered these kids last Thursday, and my boys and I have been singing this song ever since!
Enjoy!

There's a Time magazine article on the kids, here, and you can find the complete lyrics here, in case you miss some words!
Have a wonder-full Tuesday everyone!
Love, Becky

That was incredibly moving to me. Thanks for sharing that video and reminding us all why we're voting. It's not just for our generation, it's theirs. Thank you thank you thank you.

Yesterday you posted a picture of your grandfathers grave in Normandy. He was one of many that gave his life to help preserve the freedom that we have (& often take for granted) to share opinions and make our voices heard. Studying the issues, understanding the positions of the candidates & standing in line to make an informed decision by casting a ballot may involve some effort - but a high price was paid for us to have that right.

Hi Becky,

Love the video. I saw it last week and it brought tears to my eyes. That is our future.
I am getting ready to head out to stand in line today to cast my vote.
God Bless America.

hugs,
Barb

I really want to make some sarcastic comment right now... like I only voted because I wanted my free donut and Starbucks coffee, but my eyes are welling up with tears, so I can't. Thanks for sharing the video.

California is the weird state. Our presidential vote doesn't really count. The measures do though.

Uncle Sam looks a bit squirrelly in one of those photos. ;-)

What an adorable video! Thanks for sharing. Do you know, I went to school with Ron Clark and everytime I see another good thing he's done, it makes me proud (though I had nothing to do with it! ;) ).
