I never could sleep with my head on the one my host mother had on the bed when I was in France. Instead, I used an awesome lavender-scented neck pillow I bought from a Nature et Decouvertes store there. We spend about a third of our lives asleep (if we're lucky), so why not be fussy?

I hate big, fluffy feather pillows that let my head sink down to bed level, suffocated by a big wall of feathery pillow on either side of my face. Various family members would drag their pillows from their bedrooms, in direct defiance of my increasingly-shrill orders, and leave them lying all over the property. Usually in front of the TV, but sometimes in the kitchen, the laundry room, the cars, or the middle of the backyard.

Then they'd disappear.

My edict has always been, "If it's on the floor, it's in the trash," so I was the primary suspect. Especially since I was the one always yelling about the dragged-out bedroom stuff.

But when my eldest went away to college last year and left something behind that he wanted mailed, we had to pick the lock on his bedroom door...and found ALL the missing pillows. Every last one. And their replacements, which had gone missing in turn. There was almost no room on the bed for a body.

A pillow version of the SPCA.Kalynne Pudnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04804224012895512550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6272729178612778511.post-32259586916041939602008-05-16T11:00:00.000-04:002008-05-16T11:00:00.000-04:00I don't have a favorite pillow, but my 6-year-old ...I don't have a favorite pillow, but my 6-year-old son does. You certainly made me stop and think about favorite pillows and I guess I don't have one. It's a good thing cuz someone would be swiping it at my house, too. You're dog is a cutie. We used to have a Golden when our kids were little. (I'm guessing he's a Golden.) He was big, and a shedder, and a digger, and a jumper-over-the-fencer, BUT we loved him. They are gentle giants and wonderful family dogs. A very enjoyable post(again).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
